house of style + Moby’s Castle

Not everyone has the fortune to have a castle as a home, but I was delighted to find out Moby, does. Thanks to The New York Times, we’re able to take a house tour of “this crazy shining castle,” as he called it. The techno artist bought this amazing 1920s gem when he decided to leave the harsh New York winters behind for sunny Los Angeles. After falling in love with this rare find in the Hollywood Hills, Moby put the petit château through a major renovation bringing back all the original details, architectural elements and elegance from its period. He also did a magnificent job with the minimalist interiors mostly using Scandinavian style furnishings and a rather serene color palette. BIOGRAPHY

Charlotte Mann is a British artist known for her wall drawings and drawn room installations. These densely detailed 1:1 scale drawings of rooms in rooms are invariably made with thick black marker pen on a white ground.

Her work is mainly made to commission, recent works have included large pieces in Milan and Basel. In 2009 she was selected for the final shortlist of the British Surface Design Awards. In 2008 she made the wall drawings for the School of Life class room. She has collaborated several times with fashion designer Peter Jensen, to make room installations for his shows and presentations. Most recently for a presentation in Milk Studios during New York fashion week Fall/Winter 2010.

A Working Playground

Stiati ca Skype acum face parte din imperiul Microsoft? Recent am aflat si eu! E clar, nu imi mai pun Skype niciodata pe calculator, e ca si pierdut! Glumesc! Si ca a venit vorba despre ei, iata un sediu al lor! Impresionant sau ce?!

Pozitionat intr-o cladire veche, initial o fabrica de imbracaminte, transformata mai apoi in berarie … ce sir interesant de functiuni ) … Noul sediu Skype se gaseste: ghiciti unde! In Stockholm!!!

Designul extrem de vioi si colorat este “munca” designerului  Mette Larsson-Wedborn de la PS Arkitektur. S-au folosit forme circulare, instalatii de lumina interesante si haioase si o gama laraga de mobilier colorat, la randul sau, care au avut ca intentie sa scoata in evidenta spiritul “jucaus’ al Skypeului. Si se pare ca au reusit sa o faca aproape la perfectiune! Dupa ce vedem astfel de spatii de lucru birourile de tip “cubicle” nu isi mai au loc in lumea asta iar cei care le proiecteaza nu mai au nici o scuza!

[ decupaje de duminica ]]

Inspitarie de duminica: Ce inseamna asta pentru mine? Inseamna cateva imagini sugestive care sa fie capabile sa ma duca cu gandul la locul din imagine, sa ma transpuna intr-o lume paralele, secreta … stiuta numai de mine, unde sa ma simt exceptional de bine si de unde sa revin cu forte si idei noi!

Pentru voi ce inseamna ? Cum sunt duminicile, unde scapati de cotidian, macar cu gandul?

Am gasit recent imaginile astea 3 … nu mai stiu sigur unde pentru ca am uitat sa copiez titlul sau adresa Oricum, de la prima vedere m-au inspirat! Sunt niste fotografii foarte reusite iar continutul mi se pare absolut fantastic, cel putin la poza cu numarul 2. – acel tavan am impresia ca poate transforma o zi banala intr-un deosebita!!! Ce parere aveti, va spun ceva aceste picturi pe peretii camerelor?
